Curriculum
Our curriculum follows a structured, Western-style approach designed for children born and raised outside India. We use internationally recognised Punjabi learning resources, including materials from Sikhiaa.org (USA), and supplement them with teacher-designed lessons tailored to each student’s level.
Lessons are adapted according to age, language background, and learning pace. Additional worksheets, practice exercises, reading materials, and interactive activities are incorporated to strengthen literacy, comprehension, and confidence.

1. CHILD SAFETY & SAFEGUARDING POLICY
Children’s safety and wellbeing are our highest priority.
Our Commitment
- Every child has the right to feel safe.
- Bullying, abuse, neglect, or unsafe behaviour is not tolerated.
- All concerns are taken seriously.
Working With Children Check
- Any adult working directly with children must hold a valid Working With Children Check (WA).
- Volunteers or assistants may not supervise children without appropriate clearance.
Appropriate Adult Behaviour
- Treat children with respect and dignity.
- Use appropriate language at all times.
- Maintain professional boundaries.
- Avoid being alone with a child in a closed or private space.
- Never use physical discipline.
- Report any safety concerns appropriately.
Supervision
- Children are supervised during scheduled class times only.
- Parents/guardians remain responsible for children before class begins and immediately after class ends.
- Repeated late pickups may result in review of enrolment.
Reporting Concerns
- Any safety concern will be handled calmly and respectfully.
- Concerns may be reported in line with Western Australian legal requirements.
- Confidentiality will be maintained as far as reasonably possible.
2. CODE OF CONDUCT
Students
- Speak respectfully to teachers and classmates.
- Listen when others are speaking.
- No teasing, bullying, or put-downs.
- Follow teacher instructions and routines.
- Respect books, materials, and the learning space.
Parents & Guardians
- Communicate respectfully.
- Support class routines and expectations.
- Ensure punctual drop-off and pick-up.
- Raise concerns directly and calmly with the organisation.
Unsafe or consistently disruptive behaviour may result in a meeting with parents and review of enrolment.
3. CLASSROOM GUIDELINES
Punctuality
- Students should arrive at least 5 minutes before class starts.
- If a student will be late or absent, parents should notify the teacher in advance.
Preparation Before Class
- Parents are encouraged to ensure children are fed and have used the toilet before class.
- Students may use the toilet during class when genuinely needed.
Stationery & Materials
- Students should bring pencils and erasers only.
- Sharpeners, pens, markers, and coloured pencils are not permitted during class time.
Water Bottles
- Only spill-proof bottles are permitted.
Respect for Premises
- Students must walk calmly indoors.
- Learning materials and furniture must be handled carefully.
- Only designated teaching areas are accessible to students and families.
4. PREMISES & PARKING POLICY
Gurmukhi Learning Hub Incorporated operates from a private residential property. Safety and respect for neighbours are essential.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up
- Parents must supervise children during arrival and departure.
- Children must not play on the road, driveway, or neighbouring properties.
- Parents remain responsible for children until class begins and immediately after class ends.
Parking Guidelines
- Please park legally and safely in designated areas.
- Do not block the driveway at any time.
- Be mindful of neighbours and surrounding properties.
- Walking is encouraged where possible to reduce congestion.
5. CCTV & RECORDING POLICY
- The premises are CCTV protected for safety and security.
- Cameras monitor the premises to maintain safety.
- An indoor hallway camera ensures safe entry and exit of students.
- Footage is securely stored and accessed only by authorised personnel.
